Dubai International Boat Show
February 27th – March 3rd, 2018
Dubai Canal, Jumeirah
The 26th edition of Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) takes place at Dubai Canal, Jumeirah this year, as work on the new mega-marina project Dubai Harbour is being completed. Despite the temporary location, organisers are promising not only the world’s latest and greatest yachts from 350 exhibitors, over 800 brands and companies from 60 countries but also some heart-pumping activities for everyone in the family.
Adventurous types can get their kicks kite surfing, kayaking, sailing, jet-skiing or windsurfing or discover the latest in diving equipment at the Dive Middle East Exhibition (DMEX). Those with a case of aquaphobia can enjoy a more leisurely program of food, music and shopping for the latest in beachwear. There’s also the Super Car Promenade, which promises a display of the fastest, newest and rarely seen cars.
The Dubai Canal, opened in 2016, is a 3.2-km long waterway that runs from the creek in Old Dubai, through Business Bay and into the Arabian Gulf and has solidified Dubai reputation as a world-class maritime destination. Dubai Harbour on the other hand, is designed to be the Middle East’s largest marina and offers some 1,400 berth spaces. "Both Dubai and Dibs have made powerful names for themselves within the global maritime and luxury yacht community. The Dubai Harbour development and the Dubai Canal will both serve to further boost the huge appeal of the emirate and the Dubai International Boat Show among yacht owners and industry leaders alike,” said Tony Browne, Director of Adriatic Marinas ltd’s Marina.
