Finally, you can wear Tom Ford from head to toe. The new Tom Ford Timepieces will be manufactured in Switzerland, in collaboration with Bedrock Manufacturing company, the same company that launched the hugely successful, Detroit-based Shinola brand in 2013.
“Watches have long been an obsession of mine and I have been waiting for the perfect moment in our brand development to introduce this category and have also waited for the perfect partner.” Tom Ford said via a press release. “We have found that in Tom Kartsotis and Bedrock Manufacturing Company. His passion and expertise in the industry are unparalleled and Icould not be more excited to embark on this venture with Tom and the team at Bedrock.” Tom Ford says.
Founded by former Fossil CEO Tom Kartsotis, Bedrock first made headlines when it took over a former automotive research lab in Detroit, Michigan as a factory for the lifestyle brand. It has since employed many auto industry workers, and gone on to launch the higher-end Gomelsky Detroit brand. This latest partnership with celebrated fashion designer Tom Ford cements the Texas-based company’s positioning as a luxury timepiece manufacturer.
“We are very proud to be working with TOM FORD,” said Bedrock Manufacturing Company’s Tom Kartsotis. “We have a deep appreciation for the craft, detail, quality and of course taste, that TOM FORD stands for. These values are relevant now more than ever. We are excited about this collaboration and look forward to helping Tom express his vision.”
